THIS SET OF DATES IS NOW FULL -- IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PROGRAM, PLEASE EMAIL info@beyond-the-cycle-of-trauma.org ------- WE WILL BE SETTING UP ANOTHER SET OF DATES/TIMES AND CAN PUT YOU ON THE LIST OF "FIRST-TO-BE-INFORMED" WHEN THE SECOND OFFERING IS OPENED------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Learning Activity's 6.5 hours will be delivered over 3 separate sessions: Tuesday July 6, 5:00-7:30 pm PST (part a), Tuesday July 13, 5:30-7:30pm PST (part b), and Tuesday July 20, 5:30-7:30 pm PST (part c) | Accredited for a maximum of 13 Mainpro+ Credits, and 6.5 MOC credits | The unspoken aspects of the ACE Questionnaire, and how this may affect responses to ACE questionnaires, will be used to introduce important aspects of Complex Trauma (aka Complex PTSD) that are little known among physicians, yet indispensable for proper interpretation of ACE scores, as well as for working towards healing for trauma survivors. Core neurobiologically-based point-of-care skills that physicians can master to help heal trauma, or to negotiate trauma-rooted difficult behaviours, will be explained and demonstrated. These include point-of-care mindfulness and mentalization tools that we can apply at work or in our personal lives. This learning event is aimed at providing exposure to an initial skill set required to work more effectively with survivors in their quest to “heal past the cycle of trauma”. Registration is limited to keep a small number of participants. Cancellation policy: Cancellations prior to June 20 -- a $50 administration fee will be retained; Cancellations June 20 and onwards -- a $100 administration fee will be retained ----------

Description

The University of British Columbia Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide study credits for continuing medical education for physicians.  This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been approved by UBC CPD for up to 6.5 MOC Section 1 Group Learning credits. Each physician should claim only those credits accrued through participation in the activity.
