Teaching Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP) requires that educators understand ways to improve the adoption of new behaviors in their learners. This workshop is designed to help educators see TIP education through an important lens -- the neurobiology behind learning new relational behavior for stressful situations. Understanding this key concept can help TIP educators tailor their programs to improve the chances of improved TIP adoption. In the afternoon, we will also introduce dissociation, why it occurs in complex trauma, and why it is important to be aware of for healthcare providers, and for TIP education. Tips for addressing dissociation will be discussed. Registration is limited. Please email Traumainfo@shaw.ca to request registration.
